Nothing (with the exception of tightly crafted, fine music) is sacred when the boys are at the microphones. Together they make a mellifluous blend of delicate three and four part harmonies, haunting love songs, raucous rock n' roll and enjoy engaging the audience in their music and humorous antics. Oscar and Russell have been inducted into the Tucson Musicians' Museum "Hall of Fame". Drums and percussion are provided by master drummer "Cowboy" Mike Joyal, formerly of the band "The Last Call Girls". John McCaleb (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals and guitar collector), is one of Tucson's finest improvisational lead and finger-style musicians and brings a bit of a country sound to the set list. Russell Long (songwriter, harmony vocals, finger-style guitar and bass) has been in rock, folk, bluegrass and rock bands including Rocky & His Friends since he was 14. Influences range from The Beatles to the Rolling Stones, from Creedence Clearwater Revival to Thin Lizzy, from Van Morrison to The Eagles, from The Beach Boys to The Kinks, from The Knack to Tommy James, all of whose songs you hear at their performances along with a smattering of originals.īand mates include Oscar Chavez (lead singer, guitar and bass) who grew up in Tex-Mex bands and who has performed for President George W. The band mates are all long-time Tucsonans whose musical roots are steeped in the heritage of The Old Pueblo, in mariachi music, in folk and folk rock music and primarily in vintage rock.

We are so honored to be a part of this benefit show, and so lucky to be part of this great theatrical community in Tucson. The Gaslight Theater and the Gaslight Music Hall feel like a second home as well. We have performed our own shows there every year since. Mari and I first met after a magic show that I was a part of at the Gaslight Theatre in 1991. When Tony and Heather and everybody from the Gaslight Family reached out with the idea of doing a benefit show for the victims of this tragedy, I was overwhelmed with gratitude, and instantly on board to help make it happen. While I lost the greatest performing job that I could have ever dreamed of, so many of my friends and co-workers lost so much more. The horrific fires in Maui destroyed not only Warren and Annabelle's, but most of the city of Lahaina. We always had the greatest audiences you could ever hope to perform for, and my friends and co-workers were like family. I have spent 4 to 6 months a year for the last 16 years performing at one of the finest magic clubs in the world - Warren and Annabelle's Magic in Maui. Please help us do something great for the people of Maui by attending this concert to help rebuild this important venue!
John, who has performed for over 30 years at the Gaslight Theatre, and every year since the opening of The Gaslight Music Hall, spends half of his year in Maui performing for this great venue. John Shryock and friends host an important night of talent to help raise money for Warren & Annabelle's Magic!, which was burned to the ground in the recent fires in Lahaina, Hawaii.
